Career Opportunities in Facility Management
These new contracts have created tremendous opportunities for additional training and paths for promotions into new areas within the company.
Some of our Cleaners may be ideally suited to roles in Customer Service, our Leading Hands to roles as Area Managers, or Area Managers to Operations Managers. There are also opportunities for suitable staff to be trained for multi skilled cleaner/security certification which pays higher award rates. Cleaners that have these additional skills can add value to managers of smaller and regional centres.
Position Description: Facility Manager
A new management position within Reflections Group is the role of a Facility Manager who is responsible at site level for the provision, management and reporting of all of these services in accordance with the clients requirements, as prescribed in the tender document. It may also include managing the budget for the provision of these services.
The role of a Facility Manager is challenging but also exciting to the right person. A sound knowledge and understanding of the issues to be dealt with across all service areas is required, with proven abilities in several of the prime service functions.
Ideally, a Facility Manager will possess trade experience as an electrician, or air conditioning technician, and may even have operated a business in that field. Another path may be as the owner manager of a successful small service business in cleaning and or security.
Effective management and report writing skills are also necessary.
All Facility Managers and Assistant Facility Managers at state and site level are required to have a strategic overview of the various service and maintenance skill sets under their control. It is also essential that employees in these positions possess the initiative to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of tasks being undertaken, methods and procedures being employed towards improving employee safety, quality of outcomes and reducing overall costs of providing the services.
